Nuevo La Lechera Flakes

An untapped market when it comes to breakfast cereal is the ethnic/immigrant market. General Mills has just launched La Lechera Flakes which is actually a Nestle brand found in some latino countries like Mexico. La Lechera Flakes are cornflakes flavored with Nestle La Lechera Sweetened Condensed Milk. As evidence as to who the target market is, the U.S. packaging is predominately Spanish.

I happened to run across it in an Albertsons in Spokane, WA. It's pretty good. Sort of like Frosted Flakes, but with a milkier flavour.

I ate these when I lived in Brasil for a couple years (although there they are called Moça Flakes). I had often wished they had them here and had to buy them when I saw them at the store the other day!

Doesn't anyone else find this upsetting, as just one more step in the Hispaniazation of the U.S.A. For Pete's Sake! Let's all just completely surrender our culture.

I work for Wal-Mart in the southwestern Region (NM, AZ, west Texas) and we just started recieving La Lechera flakes. I'm assuming it will eventually be offered nationwide.

Qué cereal tan delicioso! I think I typed that right... in any case I really enjoy these. I live in the south Bronx and they are popular here, but since I'm from Ohio I'd never had them before. They do have a "sweet milk" taste. I thought they would be like frosted flakes, but the taste is more like vannilla... YUM

What an ignorant thing to say! And the Americanization of the whole world (McDonalds, Apple Inc.,) is a great thing?
